There are still many weeks of the holidays left and for parents that means looking for a variety of ways to keep the kids entertained. Estepona is fortunate in that it has a diverse selection of child-friendly attractions, and not all of them have to cost a lot of money.
Here are some of our recommendations for activities for kids in Estepona and surrounding areas:
Selwo Aventura – wildlife attraction park, Estepona
Selwo Aventura is a wildlife park located a short distance from the town of Estepona. Children will enjoy seeing the larger animals, such as the elephants, lions, tigers and giraffes, as well as the smaller inhabitants. There are restaurants where you can stop for refreshments, or you can bring your own picnic. It’s a great place for a family day out and the park has discount tickets on offer online.
Playa del Cristo – family beach in Estepona
This Estepona beach is a firm favourite with families, thanks to the fact it is a secluded cove and the shallower waters make it safer for younger children. There are tree-shaded areas, a small kids play area and 2 chiringuitos where you can hire sunbeds and enjoy lunch in front of the sea shore. At the weekends there are live DJs and music. The Blue Flag beach lies to the west of Estepona town, next to the marina.
Splash World – water park in Estepona
Who doesn’t enjoy a water park? The Splash World water park at Globales Playa Hotel in the Atalaya area of Estepona has been designed to entertain the whole family. There is an impressive kamikaze slide that dares you to launch yourself into the pool from a height of 12 metres and a capsule slides well as a wave pool with tornado slides and other open and covered slides to launch you into the water, some with rafts and aqua-racers to add to the excitement.
Estepona inflatable sea parks – water activities for kids in Estepona
There is a fantastic inflatable sea park on the beach near Estepona Port to the west of the town and one in front of Crusoes beach bar next to Laguna Village. Use of the various inflatables has an hourly cost, and children are supplied with life jackets. Do ask about the jellyfish situation when you arrive. The beach usually raises a flag when there are too many jellyfish to make swimming in the sea safe.
