Around the World with Milo at Mundo Mania
It’s the long summer break in Spain and Mundo Mania has been preparing a raft of entertainments to keep the kids entertained at the biggest outdoor and indoor play centre on the Costa del Sol.
While we were planning the summer play events for kids in Marbella, Estepona and beyond, we decided to introduce an educational factor into a series of activities, because kids learn more when they are having fun. We also know from past experience that Milo the Monkey, Mundo Mania’s mascot is very popular with our young visitors. So, we came up with the idea of getting Milo to lead a series of events throughout July and August, called “Around the World with Milo.”
An opportunity to learn about other cultures
Marbella, Estepona and the rest of the Costa del Sol are culturally diverse. Children living here will meet others with cultural traditions that are quite different to theirs. Our plan is to help them learn about the cultures they are likely to encounter on the Costa del Sol by journeying into different countries around the globe with themed food menus, craft workshops, games, entertainment and more! The more our children understand about other cultures, the less likely they are to see people from outside their own culture as ‘different’ in a negative way, and this is important for the future of society here.
Milo takes the kids on some brilliant adventures
Around the World with Milo kicks off on the 3rd July with a visit to Arabia. The menu for the event includes a delicious chicken cous cous dish, a beef tagine and Moroccan sweets. Jasmine from Aladdin will also make an appearance and kids can get a henna tattoo.
On the 10th July, Milo will whisk the kids off to Mexico for nachos with guacamole, enchiladas or chilli con carne. They’ll learn how to make a mini piñata and the famous Mexican wrestlers’ masks and parents can sip on a Margarita.
Russia is Milo’s destination on 17th July. The menu includes Blinis and a typical Russian salad, and there is vodka for the adults of course! The entertainment is an animation workshop from Wonderland Animation.
On 24th July we’re having a BBQ night with hamburgers, hot dogs and a mechanical bull for all those aspiring rodeo riders. And on 31st July there is an English night serving Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash and Afternoon Tea. Parents can enjoy a jug of Pimm’s, or a G&T, while kids watch a magic show.
In August we start with a visit to Rio and a Brazilian festival on Wednesday 7th. Parents can enjoy Caipirinha cocktails, while the kids watch a show with parrots, just like in the film Rio.
On the 4th August there is a Pizza Party where the kids will learn how to make mini pizzas, and on 12th August we are holding a Spanish Festival with paella and gazpacho and a flamenco show from dancer Maria Soler that will entertain all ages.
On 28th August Milo is off to an Oriental Party with sushi and wok dishes. The kids’ workshops offer an opportunity to learn how to make a fan, and how to do origami.
Put these in your diary now – and book your place at these global adventures with Milo in advance. Just ask at the Mundo Mania reception for more details about Around the World with Milo.
